The increase in global population has led to the need for more sustainable and innovative methods throughout the food supply chain.  This is partly to ensure food security, but also to help deal with rising CO2 levels and global emissions. The aim of the project is to investigate the feasibility of integrating vertical farming and automated food processing, with an indoor transport delivery system. The main objective is to determine what effect vertical farming has on the food supply chain. The project would propose strategic considerations for the commercial implementation of vertical farms in cities.
