This position, available at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor of Practice level, involves renewable, non-tenure track appointments that support OSU’s programs and initiatives as part of the General Faculty at OSU. The assigned rank will be based on the candidate’s teaching experience and technical qualifications within their professional field. Primary responsibilities include teaching lab-intensive undergraduate and/or graduate courses in ECE, covering topics such as electric circuits, microelectronics, analog and digital circuit design, robotics, VLSI, digital logic design, and embedded systems. The department offers BS, MS, MEng, and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering, as well as a BS degree in Computer Engineering with an option in Software Engineering. The undergraduate programs are ABET accredited. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline. The appointed candidates will be responsible for teaching courses in electrical and computer engineering and are expected to perform excellently at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Required qualifications include strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Practical engineering design experience in the industry or prior teaching experience in higher education is highly valued.
