Work description
This scholarship will be carried out within the scope of a project included in the Alliance for the Energy Transition and which aims to develop and implement optical sensors in an industrial context for the detection and monitoring of gases in the energy area.
It is intended that the scholarship holder develop methodologies for monitoring methane concentration using an optical fiber architecture and carry out experimental validation through manufacturing and subsequent optical characterization.
Academic Qualifications
Degree in Physics Engineering
Minimum profile required
- Knowledge in the field of optics.
- Skills in electronics and programming for software development for device simulation and control and analysis of results.
Preference factors
- Experience with optical fiber for the development of distributed sensors based on attenuation and the Brillouin phenomenon.
- Knowledge of OTDR-based systems with fiber optics.
Maintenance stipend: € 601,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.
INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".
The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
