The School of Mechanical Engineering at Purdue University is seeking applications for a post-doctoral research associate in the areas of Sensor Development and Characterization, Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS), and/or Dynamics and Vibration. The specific appointment will be with Professor Jeff Rhoads. The research associate will work on small-scale resonant sensing systems for use in smart and sustainable building applications.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in a closely related engineering discipline (e.g. mechanical or electrical engineering). The research associate must also have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as very good organizational skills. Leadership and mentoring skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently when necessary. Other important qualifications include:
- General skills related to data acquisition and signal processing;
- Familiarity with printed circuit board design, layout, and fabrication; and
- Experience with sensor development and characterization.

- Control and Signal Processing
- Dynamics and Vibration
- Microelectromechanical Systems (MEMS)
