The Department of Physics and Engineering at Westmont College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor for its new engineering major. Candidates must hold a PhD in engineering. The Westmont program grants a general engineering degree with a mechanical emphasis. The successful candidate will be asked to teach courses in areas such as dynamics, controls, instrumentation and circuits. Candidates should also have a desire for interdisciplinary collaboration and a track record of excellent and innovative teaching.
This is a tenure-track position. The anticipated teaching load is 3 courses per semester with one possibly in May Term instead. Candidates with an active research program are desired. A regular professional presence in engineering consulting could also serve as scholarly activity. Benefits include a generous faculty housing program.
