The Department of Physics and Engineering at Westmont College invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor for its new engineering major.  Candidates must hold a PhD in engineering.  The Westmont program grants a general engineering degree with a mechanical emphasis.  The successful candidate will be asked to teach courses in areas such as dynamics, controls, instrumentation and circuits.  Candidates should also have a desire for interdisciplinary collaboration and a track record of excellent and innovative teaching.

This is a tenure-track position.  The anticipated teaching load is 3 courses per semester with one possibly in May Term instead.  Candidates with an active research program are desired. A regular professional presence in engineering consulting could also serve as scholarly activity.  Benefits include a generous faculty housing program.
