The College of Engineering and Polymer Science at The University of Akron is inviting applications for a position as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Engineering Practice/Instruction in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. This is a temporary non-tenure-track position starting on August 22, 2022, and ending on May 15, 2023. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the candidate’s areas of expertise in mechanical engineering. We have specific teaching needs in Design (mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems), Vibrations/Dynamics, and Robotics/Control. The appointed candidate is expected to teach 12 credit hours per semester.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely related discipline. Higher rank may be considered at the time of the appointment for qualified candidates.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with a proven track record of industrial and teaching experience.

The compensation for this position is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
