A postdoctoral associate position is available jointly in the Advanced Sensor Technology Lab ( and the Applied Mathematics and Control Lab ( at the University of Texas Arlington. The postdoctoral associate will conduct research on the general area of computational algorithms and data analysis, especially for guided wave based structural health monitoring. The applicant must have a strong background in structural dynamics and computational methods in analysis. Experience with experiment methods is a plus.



  • Capable of doing interdisciplinary work involving mathematical modeling and physics-based data interpretation.
  • Research experiences in computational algorithms and data analysis, especially in large-scale optimization or robust optimal control.
  • Familiar with existing computational methods such as (but not limited to) regularization, orthonormal-based decomposition, Kalman filtering, deep-learning technique, Bayesian, spectral analysis, wavelets analysis, etc.
  • Track of record of scientific achievements in published papers, patents, manuscript submission, and presentation at academic conferences.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team to solve problems of scientific and technological interest.


The position will be a one-year appointment, with the possibility of extension up to three years.
