Applications are invited for one (1) exceptional candidate in the area of Electrical and Computer Engineering in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, effective July 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. The successful applicants will receive a probationary (tenure-track) appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.  The rank will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s qualifications and experience in teaching and research.

We are seeking energetic and dynamic candidates who will be able to contribute substantially to the teaching and research efforts of the Department.  The new faculty member is expected to focus on research in signal processing, RF Engineering, and/or integrated circuit design, broadly. Potential focus areas include machine learning-based signal processing and microwave/millimetre-wave/THz technologies with applications in communication, Internet of Things (IoT), radar, imaging, biomedical systems, and other related areas. The ideal candidate should also demonstrate an interest in software, hardware, and system aspects, establishing synergies with other research areas within the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and, more broadly, at Western University.

The  successful candidates will have a Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechatronics Engineering, or relevant similar field, demonstrate excellence or clear promise of excellence in research, including evidence of high-quality scholarly output that demonstrates independent research potential leading to peer assessed publications and the securing of external research funding.  Candidates should provide evidence of teaching at the university level and will be expected to teach a variety of fundamental undergraduate and graduate courses in the area of Electrical and Mechatronic Systems Engineering, as well as advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in their area of specialization.  In addition, candidates are expected to supervise graduate students and participate in other educational and professional activities including administrative duties within the Department, Faculty and University.  The ability to become eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Ontario is required for this appointment.
