Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering

The A. Leon Linton Department of Mechanical, Robotics, and Industrial Engineering at Lawrence Technological University (LTU) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Candidates are required to hold a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field by the date of hire. The appointment will begin January 2024.

Particular areas of interest include, but are not limited to, finite element analysis and nondestructive testing. The successful candidate will have a high potential for excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, a publication record commensurate with years since PhD obtained, and the ability to establish and conduct independent research.

LTU is a selective, focused university with Colleges of Architecture & Design, Arts & Sciences, Business & Information Technology, and Engineering. Of these, the College of Engineering is the oldest and largest, enrolling approximately 1,100 undergraduate and 750 graduate students. The College includes five departments: biomedical, civil & architectural, electrical & computer, mechanical, industrial, & robotics, and technology. Over a third of LTU’s students enroll in evening programs, and the College serves both full-time and part-time students. Lawrence Technological University’s A. Leon Linton Department of Mechanical, Robotics, and Industrial Engineering has 14 full-time faculty and enrolls approximately 450 graduate and close to 475 undergraduate students. The department offers the following degrees: B.S. Mechanical Engineering, B.S. Robotics Engineering, B.S. Industrial Engineering, M.S. Mechanical Engineering, M.S. Automotive Engineering, M.S. Mechatronics and Robotics Engineering, M.S. Industrial Engineering, Master of Engineering Management, and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
