The Department of Electrical Engineering (EE Department) in the new College of Engineering (CEN) at Illinois State University (ISU) invites applications for two open rank tenure-track positions beginning in Fall Semester 2025. An earlier start date is possible, conditional upon budget availability and departmental needs. We are seeking qualified candidates with expertise in (1) Digital Design and Embedded Systems and (2) Mobile and Wireless Communications and closely related areas.

The College of Engineering and the EE Department are committed to increasing the diversity of the campus community. ISU recognizes that a diverse faculty, staff, and student body enriches the educational experiences of the entire campus and greater community. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of faculty, staff, and students, and can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are especially welcomed to apply. Because the College is in its foundational stages, we are seeking candidates who can quickly adapt, be flexible in terms of workload distribution, and serve as founding members of the EE Department. Responsibilities for these positions will change from year to year until the new College reaches its steady state by 2029 or earlier. Responsibilities will include curriculum and laboratory development; effective undergraduate teaching/research including freshman and senior design advising; grant writing and research/scholarship; and service including high school visits, industry collaborations, and workshops for student recruitment.
