University Lecturer

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (MIE) at NJIT is searching for a highly¬≠qualified, enthusiastic lecturer to start in the Fall 2019 semester. This position requires teaching 4 courses each semester at the undergraduate or graduate level. Those with expertise in Mechanical Engineering are particularly encouraged to apply. Strong preference will be given to applicants with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering with a strong background in CAD. The ideal candidate should be knowledgeable about and have experience in various aspects of Mechanical Computer Aided Design (CAD/CAM/CAE) software such as: PTC Creo, SolidWorks, Ansys, etc. He/She should be able to teach courses that utilize these software’s both at an introductory level and an advanced level, bringing in elements of mechanics and design. In addition to CAD, we are looking for candidates that are comfortable teaching a wide range of core mechanical engineering courses, such as Kinematics, System Dynamics, Machine Design, Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics etc. and core mechanical engineering labs.

Besides teaching, the University Lecturer is expected to play a full-time pedagogical and leadership role, including active participation in course and program development, close interaction with students and student activities, outreach activities, and other duties as appropriate.
