Job Summary: Research Personnel conduct research with various faculty members on a variety of projects. Research is supported from contracts and grants awarded for specific time periods. Positions are non-tenure earning staff positions, and may vary in duration, depending on the conditions of the research contract, grant, or project.
Additional Department Summary: The University of Alabama seeks applications for Assistant, Associate, and Research Personnel Candidates. Successful candidates are expected to develop and sustain sponsored research programs and seek and obtain external funding to partially support the specific research program within the College.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: The rank of Assistant Research Personnel requires a Master’s degree in one or more specialized fields within the College or a closely related field. The ranks of Associate Research and Sr Research Personnel require a Ph.D. degree in one or more specialized fields within the College or a closely related field. Ability to develop and sustain a high quality externally funded research program. Effective communication skills.
Skills and Knowledge: Expertise in remote sensing systems and their applications. Expertise in using engineering drawing programs. Expertise in manufacturing a variety of engineering materials.
Preferred Qualifications: Proven record in funded research. Demonstrated ability of working in a multidisciplinary environment.
