The Department of Civil Engineering and Applied Mechanics at McGill University invites applications for two tenure-track positions in Infrastructure/Structural Engineering, preferably at the Assistant Professor level. Rank will be determined by the qualifications of the successful applicant and salary will be commensurate with rank and experience. Research areas of interest include, but are not limited to: structural analysis; concrete structures; steel structures; bridge engineering; structural evaluation and rehabilitation; and seismic analysis and design. Integration of information technologies in experimental research, advanced numerical modeling and/or structural health monitoring is an asset.
The Department has strong research activities in infrastructure engineering, structural engineering, materials, environmental engineering, geo-environmental and geotechnical engineering, fluid mechanics and water resources engineering and transportation engineering. The Department is committed to excellence in teaching in its undergraduate and graduate programs in Civil Engineering and values service contributions of its Faculty members to the University, the profession and society at-large.
Candidates must have a Ph.D., with a first degree in Civil Engineering. Evidence of outstanding research achievements, or research potential, is indispensable.
