Job Description

The Research Scientist will be involved in planning and conducting experiments and analyzing results, either with a definite end use (to develop new methods, processes, or commercial applications), or to broaden scientific understanding in general. Job duties include the following:

  • Work on the development of coastal flood and wave models, ocean and flood modeling, flood adaptation modeling, and flood hazard assessment;

  • Work in a team environment with Davidson Lab faculty, researchers and graduate students to maintain and develop operational flood prediction models;

  • Work with other faculty in developing research proposals and publishing peer-reviewed journal papers;

  • Work with IT on software installation;

  • Monitor incoming data streams and troubleshoot data collection problems in collaboration with IT and field group;

  • Participate in other tasks as assigned by the principal investigators.

 

Education: Ph.D. Degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent.
