Research and develop new signal and image processing methods in the Neuroengineering area.
Work description
The Biomedical Engineering Research Center (C-BER) of INESC TEC has been developing new signal and image processing methods to support the diagnosis and follow-up of neurological diseases, namely Parkinson's disease and Epilepsy.
This scholarship aims to include the candidate in a working team in this area in order to actively contribute to the research of new signal and image processing algorithms in neuroengineering.
Academic Qualifications
- Student in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering or similar areas.
Minimum profile required
- Extensive knowledge of biomedical signal and image processing methods.
- Some knowledge of machine learning techniques and advanced statistics.
- Prior familiarity with the neuroengineering sector and its challenges.
Preference factors
- Previous development of signal processing algorithms in the health area.
- Willingness to continue the work on a master's thesis work.
Maintenance stipend: € 651,12, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.
INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".
The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
