Summary

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the level of Assistant Professor. For this position, we seek an early career faculty member in communication systems, and wireless communications/networking. Preference will be given to those who can start in Spring semester 2025; however, Fall 2025 start will also be considered. Tenure-track faculty members are expected to engage in teaching, research, and service activities.

The ECE Department at UCCS is relatively small in size; thus, all the tenure-track faculty in the department are expected to teach undergraduate and graduate classes, while simultaneously developing an individual program of research. Considerable flexibility exists in the choice of research focus so long as areas align with Department strengths. The College of Engineering and Applied Science (EAS) at UCCS offers degrees at the bachelors, masters, and doctoral levels. The Microelectronics Research Laboratory (MRL) of the ECE Department has a well-equipped 4000 sq. ft. class-100 clean room, with device processing and characterization facilities. The Microwave Measurements Laboratory is able to test EMI from high-power circuits. The High-Capacity Battery Research Laboratory has facilities to test and characterize cells, modules, and battery packs for hybrid and electric vehicles. The undergraduate communications laboratory has recently been upgraded with new 6.5 GHz FieldFox spectrum/network analyzers and waveform generators to augment the wideband digital oscilloscopes.

The ECE department currently has 12 full-time faculty. Visit https://www.uccs.edu/ece/ for more information.
