The Turbomachinery and Heat Transfer Laboratory, located at the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering, Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, has initiated a new research project on Novel Heat Transfer Based Approach to Active Aviation Noise Cancellation, which is funded by the European Research Council (ERC). Currently, in the scope of this project, the laboratory has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow with prior degrees in Mechanical, Aeronautical, Aerospace Engineering, or related field. The selected individual will focus the majority of his research efforts in the field of Solid-State Physics Modeling of Electron-Phonon Interactions in Joule-Heated Media.
- A pre-existing solid background, or a strong desire to acquire knowledge, in the following subjects is essential: Micro- and Nano-Scale Heat Transfer, Solid State Physics, Advanced Heat Transfer and Multiphysics Modelling, Acoustics.
- Proficiency in MATLAB and expertise in finite element / volume solvers (such as COMSOL, ANSYS, Fluent, CFX) is required.
- High level of English language proficiency is desirable.
- Candidates are expected to be self-motivated, hardworking and team players.
The laboratory is located on campus, and close to the Haifa city center. We maintain a very friendly environment, which will provide easy adaptation for the selected applicant.
