Assistant or Associate Professor of Materials Science and Engineering
Milwaukee School of Engineering invites applications for a faculty position in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Assistant or Associate Professor level for Fall 2024. The Department of Mechanical Engineering houses undergraduate programs in Industrial Engineering and Mechanical Engineering as well as a graduate program in Engineering. The full-time faculty position is open to applicants in Materials Science and Engineering with expertise in materials modeling, metallurgy, and manufacturing processes. Additional expertise in areas such as biomaterials, composites, or nanomaterials is preferred.
The position requires an earned doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering (or a related field), relevant experience, and a strong interest in effective undergraduate teaching while integrating theory with applications. Candidates are expected to have an undergraduate engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program. In addition to teaching duties, successful candidates will be expected to become involved with academic advising, curriculum development, supervision of student projects, and continued professional growth through a combination of consulting, scholarship, and research. Excellent collaborative and communication skills are required.
