Teaching-term Positions in Mechanical Engineering

(Thermo-Fluids and Energy Systems)

 

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland invites applications for two Teaching Assistant Professor positions in the field of mechanical engineering.  These appointments will be for a three-year term commencing January 1, 2024. These positions are subject to budgetary approval.

 

Applicants must hold mechanical engineering (or related discipline) degrees at the bachelor’s and doctoral levels. Required areas of teaching are in thermal-fluids engineering and energy systems engineering. The subjects include fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics, energy systems, energy storage, thermal power systems, and related equipment design courses. The successful candidates should have relevant experience in areas of renewable and non-renewable energy conversion processes. The successful candidates will be expected to effectively teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and supervise student projects.  Past teaching experience in the above areas is desirable.  The successful candidates should be eligible to register as a P.Eng. with the Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Newfoundland and Labrador (PEGNL).

The deadline to receive applications is November 30, 2023.  Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
