The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) in the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at the University at Buffalo, State University of New York seeks to fill a position with the title of Instructor of Practice or Assistant Professor of Practice. The position is classified as a non-tenure track Lecturer 10-month appointment. We are particularly looking for candidates who can operate effectively in a diverse community of students and faculty and share the MAE vision of helping all constituents reach their full potential.
The primary purpose of this position is to improve the educational experience for undergraduate students enrolled in senior design (capstone) courses in the Mechanical Engineering (ME) and Aerospace Engineering (AE) programs. These courses serve as important elements of the accreditation process and ABET
A successful candidate will be expected to assume the following responsibilities:
Serve as Instructor for the required undergraduate courses of Design Process and Methods (MAE 451) and Design Project (MAE 494).
Develop and implement innovative methods to engage industry and faculty to participate in supervising senior design projects.
Participate in the MAE Undergraduate Studies Committee to support the accreditation process for ABET, and support department initiatives to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Professional Engineering (PE) licensure; at least ten years of work experience; or a PhD degree in engineering or a related field, along with design experience.
