The Successful candidate will be hired as a Graduate Assistant (GA) and work on the topics of computational multiphase fluid flow in porous media, and bio-geotechnical techniques for soil liquefaction mitigation.
A successful candidate should have a strong background in computational fluid mechanics in porous media, computational geomechanics, as well as non-destructive experimental characterization of soils (seismic wave measurements using bender elements, and sensors-signals in soils). The candidate should feel comfortable implementing algorithms and processing data in at least one general-purpose programming language (Python, MATLAB, R). All students must submit GRE scores, while international students must also submit TOEFL or IELTS scores. The application deadline is May 7.
