The optical imaging group at University of Michigan Medical School Departments of Ophthalmology and Biomedical Engineering is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill a position of Postdoctoral Research Fellow. This NIH funding supported position will provide great research and training opportunities for engineers or scientists interested in medical imaging and biophotonics. Primary research will be related to development and application of novel photoacoustic and ultrasound imaging technologies as well as other imaging modalities involving light and/or sound. The selected person will have great opportunities to be exposed to both clinical and technical environments, and work with the members of the entire university comprised of faculty of different backgrounds, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.
Qualified candidates should posses a Ph.D. in engineering, physics or a related field with a strong experimental background and hands-on experience in optics and ultrasound instrumentation. Data processing experience with MATLAB or Python is also highly desired. Motivated candidates with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are encouraged to apply.
