The College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University solicits applications for a tenure-track faculty position with an anticipated start date of January 2022.

The vision of the College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University is to be a world leader in integrating engineering and science in education and research. The construction of a new $40M integrated engineering and science education building has provided the College an additional 128,000 square feet of educational space. Candidates must hold a doctorate or equivalent degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering, or in a field with significant overlap. Candidates must demonstrate potential to conduct high-quality research and teaching and show expertise relevant to one or more of the College’s research centers (https://coes.latech.edu/research/institutes-centers/).

Candidates of particular interest include those with demonstrated research accomplishments in the field of structural engineering and an ability to interface with College research centers. Candidates will be expected to teach undergraduate courses that can include, Structures, Water Resources, Fluid Dynamics, Civil Engineering Materials, Construction and Surveying, Environmental Engineering, and related labs.

Successful tenure-track candidates are expected to actively participate in multidisciplinary research efforts in the College; initiate, build and sustain an externally funded research program; and supervise masters and doctoral students. Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong teaching skills, and a commitment to high-quality university and professional service are also expected. The College is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
