The Department of Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering (PNGE) in the Benjamin M. Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources at West Virginia University invites applications and nominations for a position of Post-Doctoral Fellow in the area of Reservoir Engineering and Modeling.
This will be a 9-month, full-time salaried position with an annual (yearly) salary of $52,500. The starting date for the position will be September 1, 2020 to September 1, 2021 (with potential for renewal based on research funding). The review of applications will start on August 1, 2020. The position will remain open and applications will continue to be reviewed until the appointment is made.

Eligible candidates must hold an earned doctoral degree in Petroleum Engineering or a closely related fields at the time of appointment. A strong background in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and computer coding using Python is required. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: assisting the Pl in conducting literature surveys in specialized fields of artificial intelligence and machine learning, developing analytical algorithms and models for Top-Down Modeling for CO2-EOR project, developing the project in all phases, including project planning, project task development, reports and communicating research results in peer reviewed journals, attending seminars.
