Ph.D. and M.S. students and interns positions are open under Dr. Ye Lu in the College of Aeronautics and Engineering at Kent State University. Potential start dates for graduate students are Fall 2020 or Spring 2021.

Research areas:

  • Astrodynamics/Orbit Mechanics,
  • Aeroassist Flight Dynamics,
  • Aerocapture, Aerobraking, and Aerogravity-assist
  • Mission Design,
  • Small Satellite Applications

Candidate Qualifications:

  • If pursuing Ph.D. degree: M.S. degree in aerospace engineering or related fields (B.S. students may also be considered, depending on experiences)
  • If pursuing MS degree: undergraduate degree in aerospace engineering or related fields
  • For interns: open to all students with interests in space exploration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interests in space missions and spacecraft design and applications
  • Candidate should be self-motivated and committed to research
  • All candidates are encouraged to apply, previous experiences with orbit mechanics, guidance, dynamics and control, numerical simulations are highly desired,
