The Energy Transport and Conversion Lab at the University of Hawaii at Manoa has an opening (to start as soon as possible) for a postdoctoral researcher to join its research team.
The postdoc will lead a project to develop a highly thermally conductive polymer composite by employing various synthetic approaches. The postdoc is expected to work on several areas including synthesis, instrumentation, thermal and mechanical characterization, electron microscopy, and spectroscopy.
The candidate should have, or be near to completing, a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, or a related field, and have a strong interest in thermal transport and material characterization. Expertise in experimental characterizations and knowledge on nanoscale thermal transport phenomena is desired. Familiarity with polymer-related research is advantageous.
