Department of Signal Processing and Acoustics is looking for a
POSTDOC RESEARCHER IN SIGNAL PROCESSING
Your role is to research and supervise Ph.D. students. You will join in a multidisciplinary and multinational team of researchers working in Dept. Signal Processing and Acoustics, Dept. Communications and Networking, and Dept. Electrical Engineering and Automation.
Possible topics to work on:
1. Satellite communications
The work on satellite communications could be along these lines: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9079921 or more on signal processing side considering compressive sampling on RF and efficient implementation of wideband receivers.
2. Machine learning for wireless communications
One option is to process the signals from our bits/s/Hz/euro multiantenna receiver described here: http://urn.fi/URN:NBN:fi:aalto-201903172303 Another possible topic is to search for the solution to regulator’s concern: "We know the cars using our roads, but we don’t know for sure, who are using our frequencies".
3. Control and communications
The work could be along these lines: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/8919747 i.e. on distributed control over unreliable wireless channels.
Contact and salary
The postdoctoral position is contract-based; one-year contract is granted first, followed by possible extensions of another one-year period depending on the achievements during the first contractual period.
Aalto University follows the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition to the salary, the contract includes occupational health care benefits, and Finland has a comprehensive social security system.
