Description
The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME) at Tufts University invites applicants for a full-time Lecturer as part of a focused effort to further strengthen our BME core course offerings as well as the coordination of our undergraduate labs:
FALL SEMESTER: (1-course equivalent) Plan, organize, and coordinate lab sections of: BME 0033 (Biomedical Concepts at the Molecular, Protein, & Cellular Scales I) BME 0045 (Biomedical Concepts at the Tissue, Organ, & Systems Scales II) (2-course equivalent) Teach lecture courses: BME 0153 (Biomaterials & Regenerative Medicine) BME 0162 (Molecular Biotechnology)
SPRING SEMESTER (1-course equivalent) Plan, organize, and coordinate lab sections of: BME 0034 (Biomedical Concepts at the Molecular, Protein, & Cellular Scales II) BME 0044 (Biomedical Concepts at the Tissue, Organ, & Systems Scales I) (2-course equivalent) Teach lecture courses: BME 0044 (Biomedical Concepts at the Tissue, Organ, & Systems Scales I) BME 0162 (Molecular Biotechnology)
This is a full-time, non-tenure track position. The initial appointment term will be for two years with the possibility of renewal contingent on annual performance review results including semester teaching feedback collected from student evaluations. The full-time Lecturer is expected to teach the equivalent of six (6) courses per year.
Qualifications
The ideal full-time Lecturer will possess prior teaching experience, especially with undergraduate students and have an engaging teaching style. The candidate must have a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring. A doctoral degree in biomedical engineering or closely related discipline is preferred, but not required.
