The Department of Engineering at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) wishes to fill three (03) full-time Tenure-track positions, under the Cluster Hiring modality, with scientifically ambitious candidates. The PUCP Engineering Department created 50 years ago, includes several accredited programs by the US – Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology – ABET, incorporating dynamic and international connected scientific researchers as well as infrastructure that provides an excellent environment to carry out the research.
I. Profile of the candidates
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to develop a cross-cutting research in certain areas and disciplines. The PUCP Engineering Department seeks faculty researchers who can catalyze interdisciplinary collaboration, attract international research funding, and enrich our university education and the undergraduate and graduate student experience by addressing critical academic challenges in the following cross-cutting areas:
- Health and well-being
- Smart and resilient cities
- Environment and natural resources
- Functional and structural materials
The research positions offered require full-time dedication, with a 40-hour per week contract, including 5 hours per week per semester teaching courses for undergraduate and/or graduate students, and at least 50% of time dedicated to research. The appointment is expected to begin in the first semester of 2026 (2026-1) and last for three years, after which, upon positive evaluation, the position will become permanent.
II. Requirements
- Ph.D. or Doctoral degree. Applications are not limited to doctoral degrees in Engineering; applicants from any scientific area capable of leading cross-cutting research are welcome.
- Academic training relevant to the strategic cross-cutting areas of this call.
- Proficiency in English. Knowledge of other languages will be positively evaluated.
- At least 3 publications in journals Q1 indexed in Scopus or WoS in the last 3 years.
