The project aims to test the applicability of cryogenic fracturing using liquid nitrogen to develop coalbed methane (CBM) resources. Specific research tasks include laboratory fracturing experiments and characterization, fracturing modeling and CBM reservoir simulation, and field pilot tests of cryogenic fracturing in Coal Basin. There are 2 postdoc researcher openings in these research directions, which could start in early 2021.
1. PhD degree in related fields by the time of hire
2. Strong skills in experiments or modeling, and/or field case study experience
3. Demonstrated publication records in English with at least 1 journal paper
The positions are initially available for a duration of 1 year with the possibility of extending up to 2-3 years depending on project progress.
