One postdoctoral research associate position is immediately available in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at The University of Iowa. The successful candidate will focus on developing a novel spatial-temporal hybridized deep learning framework to provide decision support for the diagnosis and prognostication of Takotsubo patients using imaging information routinely available in clinical practice.

The position is for one year in the first instance, and has the potential to be extended for suitably qualified candidates if skills, interest and performance allow. This position is immediately available and will start at a mutually agreed upon date.  All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply as early as possible.

Education Requirement:    

  • The candidate should have a Ph.D. (or equivalent) in Applied Mathematics/Statistics, Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or related fields.

Required Qualifications:    

  • We are seeking highly motivated individuals who have demonstrated academic excellence with publications in top-class journals and conferences. 
  • Proven ability to work independently and experience in medical imaging, machine learning, and mathematical optimization are considered to be important assets for this position.
  • Competence in the comfortable use of popular deep learning libraries and toolkits is essential.
  • The candidate should ideally have strong Python, C++, Matlab, and/or other prototyping and software development skills.
  • Good communication as well as writing skills is desirable.
