Position Summary

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher. In this position, you will:

    • conduct heteroepitaxial growth of functional materials using Pulsed Laser Deposition techniques and optimize conditions for growth
    • investigate incorporation of controlled nanostructures of within device layers to optimize physical properties
    • physical property characterization such as transport and magnetic properties (using a PPMS system) of grown materials and films

 


Candidates will also be considered for a volunteer Research Assistant Professor position.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctorate in a relevant science or engineering discipline
  • A strong record of research publication
  • Ability to work independently is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years research experience related to heteroepitaxial growth high-temperature superconducting REBCO materials using Pulsed Laser Deposition techniques and experience with optimizing nanostructures for flux-pinning
  • Two years prior work experience in a postdoctoral position is highly desired
  • Significant experience with superconducting transport and magnetic property measurements using a PPMS system
  • Experience in writing grant proposals
