A Ph.D. position is available starting Fall 2021 in the Autonomous Robots and Systems Lab (https://coefs.uncc.edu/awolek/) in the Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Science Department at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. We are seeking a highly motivated student to join Dr. Artur Wolek’s research group to work in the area of collaborative sensing with heterogeneous mobile robots. This opportunity will provide exposure and training in several areas relevant to robotics, including: vehicle dynamics, estimation, control, network science, optimization, and planning. The student will also gain practical experience developing and deploying autonomous aerial or marine robots in outdoor environments. Dr. Artur Wolek is an enthusiastic Assistant Professor who aims to provide his graduate students with an exciting and rewarding research experience.
The MEES Department at UNC Charlotte

Qualifications
All highly-motivated applicants who will possess a BS or MS degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, computer, aerospace), robotics, computer science, or a related field by August 2021 will be considered. Prior experience working with robotic hardware and a strong mathematical background in one or more areas relevant to robotics and control is desired. Applicants must meet admissions requirements set forth by the UNC Charlotte Graduate School and the William States Lee College of Engineering.
