The Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics at Old Dominion University (

Research Faculty at a rank of Research Assistant, Research Associate, or Research Professor.
This is a 10-month non-tenure track appointment supported by state funds. The successful candidate will perform cutting-edge experimental biomedical research in a broader area of bioelectrics (which encompasses bioeffects and applications of electric fields, electrostimulation, electroporation, and roles of endogenous electric fields), report results at scientific forums, publish in peer-reviewed journals, compete for extramural grant funding, and actively collaborate with colleagues at Frank Reidy Research Center for Bioelectrics (
FRRCBE) and beyond.
FRRCBE pioneers basic and applied research in the interaction of electric fields and ionized gases with biological systems. Its mission spans advancing scientific knowledge in biotechnology, medical diagnostics, therapeutics, and environmental applications. Minimum required education and/or special licenses, registrations, trainings, or certifications
Ph.D. or M.D. in Biomedical Research, Biophysics, or related field.
Minimum required level and type of experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities
Applicants must have experience in experimental or clinical research in bioelectrics or closely related to bioelectrics and a proven record of research published in peer-reviewed journals, as well as conference presentations.
- Research Assistant Professor applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of postdoctoral or similar training.
- Research Associate Professor applicants must have a minimum of 4 years of postdoctoral or similar training.
- Research Professor applicants must have a minimum of 5 years in a faculty position and a strong record of extramural research support as a PI or a co-PI.
Preferred Qualifications
- Evidence of extramural grant support as a PI or a co-PI.
- Experience with writing and submitting federal grant applications.
- Experience in teaching and mentoring.
- Relevance to the ongoing research at FRRCBE and the potential for collaboration with current faculty.
