The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at Carnegie Mellon University is accepting applications for tenure-track faculty positions at the rank of assistant professor in the areas of Electronic Materials, Structural Materials, and Materials for Energy, although particularly compelling candidates will be considered at higher ranks. A joint appointment between MSE and other engineering or science departments at CMU may also be considered.

We expect tenure-track faculty to establish and grow an internationally recognized research program, contribute to innovations in teaching, and demonstrate a passion for mentoring and advising students.
