The Frank R. Seaver College of Science and Engineering at Loyola Marymount University is excited to invite applications for Tenure-Track Assistant Professor positions in all four of our engineering and computer science departments. The successful candidates will begin in August 2024.
The departments in the Seaver College of Science and Engineering are committed to offering pedagogically effective, engaging, and transformative learning opportunities for our students. Faculty members who are engaged in scholarly inquiry play a critical role in LMU's mission and improve our educational effectiveness. They critically assess the curriculum, foster a culture of inquiry, and make possible hands-on learning experiences for students. We seek to hire innovative teacher-scholars to join us in our work.
Successful candidates will be dedicated to: 1) teaching a diverse student body in a transformative learning environment across a range of undergraduate and graduate courses, 2) developing a thriving research program that involves mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, 3) challenging themself, their students, and their colleagues to be actively anti-racist and work toward greater diversity, equity, and inclusion in the profession, and 4) participating in service activities at the academic, professional, and/or community levels. Experience teaching and/or mentoring undergraduate students in hands-on design work, research projects, and/or robust laboratory experiences is highly desired.
