CLUSTER OF RESEARCH EXCELLENCE IN MUSCULOSKELETAL HEALTH
is seeking outstanding candidates for a

WESTERN RESEARCH CHAIR IN MUSCULOSKELETAL BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING
Western University in London, Ontario, Canada seeks applicants for a Western Research Chair in Musculoskeletal Biomedical Engineering. Applicants who can demonstrate outstanding ability to lead research in any field relevant to engineering for musculoskeletal health such as imaging, regenerative medicine, tissue engineering, biomaterials, rehabilitation, wearable and implanted systems, energy harvesting, human-machine interfaces, multiscale computational modelling, machine learning, etc. are encouraged to apply.

Applicants must have an outstanding record of peer-reviewed publications, research funding, supervision of trainees, and leadership of research teams. Applicants should hold a PhD or equivalent and be internationally recognized for research relevant to musculoskeletal health. The successful candidate will hold an academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor with tenure (commensurate with qualifications and experience), in the appropriate Department within the Faculty of Engineering. The Chair will join a transdisciplinary network of collaborative researchers in Western University’s Bone and Joint Institute (http://boneandjoint.uwo.ca) and will supervise graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and/or clinician-scientists in training in its Collaborative Training Program in Musculoskeletal Health Research (http://cmhr.uwo.ca). The position will commence September 1, 2019 or as negotiated.

Western University is investing $12.5M to grow its significant strengths in musculoskeletal health research through the Cluster of Research Excellence in Musculoskeletal Health and Western Research Chairs program (http://www.uwo.ca/research/wcre.html). These new investments will build on extensive infrastructure, expertise and a history of innovation in musculoskeletal health in London, Canada. Facilities and resources include a full range of state-of-the-art laboratories, imaging systems, and world-renowned clinics caring for patients with musculoskeletal conditions (http://boneandjoint.uwo.ca/research/infrastructure/index.html).
