Job Description Summary

Assistant Research Professor position for Huntsville location. The successful candidate for this opening must show understanding of the Digital Thread as it relates to manufacturing and systems engineering, and experience in the application of data element analysis to both domains. The candidate should be able to show application of a systems engineering approach for the standardized capture, mapping, and analysis of data threads for digital system understanding and improvement. Demonstrated experience in the application of data element analysis, Digital Thread development, and systems architecting using a model based systems engineering approach is desired. Of particular interest is the application of these approaches in the DoD environment. Development of unique tools for analysis and system development is desired.
The successful candidate will be expected to establish a strong extramurally funded research program, occasionally develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in systems engineering, contribute to mentoring, supervise graduate students working on Army and DoD systems projects, participate in outreach, and provide service to the department, college, and university. The successful candidate is expected to bring experience, innovation, enthusiasm, and technology advancement to the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, or a related field, from an ABET accredited institution at time of employment.
Demonstrated experience in the application of data element analysis, Digital Thread development, and systems architecting using a model-based systems engineering approach is required.
The successful candidate must meet eligibility requirements for work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the term of employment.

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with process flow, data mapping, digital thread, digitalization initiatives.
Demonstrated experience working with the DoD in Digital Engineering initiatives.
Development of unique tools for analysis and system development is desired.
