Engineering Technology: Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering Technology to begin the 2019-20 academic year to teach Mechanical Engineering Technology; maintain an active research agenda; advise students; and provide service to the institution.
Require: Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Engineering Technology or closely related field by date of appointment.
Consideration may be given to candidates with relevant and technologically current industry experience; a Professional Engineering License; or teaching experience at the college level.

The department offers ABET/ETAC accredited bachelor’s completion degree programs with concentrations in Mechanical, Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology, and Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology; and ABET/ETAC accredited associate degree programs in Electrical & Computer Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology. The department is part of the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science of Miami University and is based on Miami’s open-admission regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, Ohio.
Faculty in the department teach undergraduate courses during day and evening hours. Some courses may be delivered by interactive video and web. Courses to be taught include but are not limited to: thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, advanced machine design, computer-aided drafting and design, manufacturing, solid modeling and fundamental mechanical courses such as statics and dynamics. Faculty in the department are expected to be effective teachers, develop curriculum, advise students, actively engage in outreach programs to promote associate and bachelor’s degree programs, provide meaningful service to the department and the university, which will include some program coordination activities, and develop and maintain high quality scholarship.
