The Department of Computer Science at the Florida State University invites applications for a Teaching Faculty 1, 12-month, full time, specialized faculty position, beginning Fall 2020. The department currently has 25 tenure-track and 6 specialized faculty members and offers degrees at the BS, MS, and PhD levels. The department is an NSA/DHS Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education and Research. The Department’s primary role is to serve as a center for advanced graduate and professional studies while emphasizing research and providing excellence in undergraduate education. The faculty position will have responsibilities in teaching and service. Primary responsibilities are teaching a variety of core, elective, and service courses (traditional or online) in the undergraduate Computer Science program at FSU. This position also includes service to the department and campus.
Academic doctorate or highest-level terminal degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science/related field or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties, with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching.
Minimum of two years of college teaching experience. Capability to teach most courses in an ABET-accredited core curriculum in Computer Science as well as the service classes offered by the department.
