Power Sistems- Micro grids

 

Work description

Develop an energy management and power dispatch tool to optimize the management of industrial microgrids integrating different energy storage systems technologies and other distributed energy resources, namely electric vehicles and combined heat and power generation.

The dispatch strategies will not only focus on the optimization of the microgrid, as well as enable the provision of flexibility services. The work will involve modelling different technologies of energy storage, namely Li-ion, Redox flow considering their dynamic behavior, degradation and efficiency. Appropriate documentation and dissemination is expected to be produced.

Minimum profile required

Knowledge in programming (namely python);

Preference factors

Experience in the modelling of energy storage technologies, particularly concerning Li-ion degradation models. Experience with python programming.

Maintenance stipend: € 1259,64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.

INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".

The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
