The Maroun Semaan Faculty of Engineering and Architecture (MSFEA) at the American University of Beirut is seeking to fill Multiple Tenure-Track Faculty Positions with an expected starting date of September 2020 or earlier in Civil & Environmental Engineering (areas: Construction Engineering Management, Structural Engineering, Transportation Engineering/Systems, and Water Resources), Electrical & Computer Engineering (areas: computer science), Industrial Engineering & Management (area: Industrial Engineering) and Mechanical Engineering (areas: Mechanical Design, Dynamics/Vibrations, Thermal-Fluid Sciences). In addition, we seek applications for cross-disciplinary tenure-track faculty positions in engineering. Ideal candidates for this position will have a research and teaching record of bridging disciplines and engaging in pressing societal challenges. Applications for visiting- and other non-tenure track professorial positions are also welcome.
With a total enrollment of approximately 2800 undergraduate, master’s, and PhD students, MSFEA is comprised of more than 110 professorial rank and 60 part-time faculty members, and houses six departments: Architecture and Design, Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering and Management, Mechanical Engineering, and graduate programs in Biomedical Engineering and Urban Design, Planning, and Policy. Our undergraduate engineering degree programs are ABET accredited.
Founded in 1866, the American University of Beirut bases its educational philosophy, standards, and practices on the American liberal arts model of higher education.
