The School of Engineering at Brown University invites applications for a Nelson Chair of Engineering and Entrepreneurship with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2020. The establishment and growth of the Jonathan M. Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship has created a strong entrepreneurial ecosystem at Brown. To maintain this growth trajectory, we seek to hire a senior faculty member with a stellar track record of research and/or technical accomplishments, and with a history of contributing to entrepreneurial and technical leadership. The Nelson Chair holder will: a. Develop and maintain an active, externally funded research program; b. Support rigorous instruction in the School of Engineering and, in particular, in the PRIME program; and c. Have vigorous interactions with the Nelson Center. Applicants should hold a PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, Management Science, or related disciplines. The successful applicant will have an outstanding record of research and teaching. We are particularly interested in scholars who demonstrate commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
