Postdoctoral Research Associate

Applications are invited from qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, a joint campus between Indiana University and Purdue University. Areas of research include the synthesis of functional hydrogel scaffolds with dynamic biophysical and biochemical properties for regenerative medicine applications and cancer models. The associate will collaborate actively with Indiana University School of Medicine.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Engineering, Materials Sciences and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related fields. Those with research interests on polymeric biomaterials for tissue engineering applications are especially encouraged to apply. Excellence in polymer and/or peptide synthesis, mammalian cell culture, microscopy, cell and molecular biology techniques is desired. Experience with cancer cell biology or in vivo studies is preferred. Candidates should have excellent oral and written communication skills and have experience/interests on mentoring graduate and undergraduate students.
