The U.S. Naval Academy Department of Weapons, Robotics, and Control Engineering (WRCE) invites applicants for a tenure track Assistant Professor or Associate Professor position to begin as early as July 2024. Review of applications will begin on November 17, 2023, and continue until the position is filled.

The WRCE major is an ABET-accredited 4-year B.S. degree that prepares midshipmen for an increasingly autonomous world. The department faculty consists of a mix of civilian and military professors with a focus on high-quality, in-person instruction in small, undergraduate classes that average no more than twenty students. Additional opportunities to professionally engage with students through extra-curricular activities, mentorship, and coaching are encouraged. Engineering labs are equipped with state-of-the-art hardware for exploring robotics, autonomy, control, machine vision, biomechanics, Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML), and rapid prototyping.

Candidates should hold US citizenship and have a Ph.D. in Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related STEM fields prior to beginning employment.
