The Construction Management Program at the Florida Institute of Technology (Florida Tech) invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the level of Assistant Teaching Professor, planned to commence in August 2023. The position is intended primarily at the Assistant Professor level, however, exceptional candidates may be considered for higher-level appointments. This is a non-tenure track position, with primary emphasis on teaching courses within the Construction Management and Civil Engineering programs. The successful applicant will have relevant academic background, industry experience, and a commitment to teaching excellence.
Construction Management is a program within the Department of Mechanical and Civil Engineering. The program is accredited by the American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The program’s primary goal is to prepare undergraduate students for a leadership career in the construction industry. The program has three full-time faculty members and approximately 50 undergraduate students. Additionally, Construction Management faculty members teach Construction Management related undergraduate and graduate Civil Engineering courses and advise approximately 30 Civil Engineering graduate students specializing in the Construction Management area.
- An undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field.
- A Ph.D. or other terminal degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field with a minimum of 5 years of industry experience as a practicing construction manager, or a master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or closely related field with a minimum of 20 years of industry experience as a practicing construction manager.
