Research Opportunities
Smart medical devices (signal processing and programming).
Work description
- Research and development of algorithms for analyzing physiological and biomechanical signals acquired by devices with integrated sensors, which will perform electrocardiography, electromyography and movement measurements, among others, during everyday activities.
- The aim is to identify characteristics and recognize personalized patterns, through artificial intelligence methods, to classify and evaluate different pathologies objectively for early detection or follow-up monitoring.
- Collaboration in the research, development and innovation project, in the healthcare sector, to create smart devices with biometric, physiological and movement sensing.
- Collaborate with project partners in signal collection and database organization.
- Collaborate in the writing of scientific articles, patent proposals and work reports.
Academic Qualifications
- BSc in Biomedical Eng. or related areas.
- MSc student in Biomedical Eng. or related areas.
Minimum profile required
- Solid knowledge of programming and signal processing, based on Matlab or Python.
Preference factors
- Machine Learning Knowledge.
- Knowledge of signal processing and machine learning libraries (e.g., PyCaret, scikit-learn).
Maintenance stipend: € 1309.64, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.
INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".
The grant holder will benefit from health insurance, supported by INESC TEC.
