THE POSITION:
RIT Dubai is actively seeking outstanding candidates for a full-time faculty position within the Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Department, beginning in the 2024-2025 academic year. The responsibilities associated with this role encompass teaching, research, educational activities (including course development, undergraduate and graduate advising, and lab development), and active participation in professional service activities.

ABOUT THE MEIE DEPARTMENT:
The MEIE department boasts a dynamic team of 8 faculty members, along with a thriving community of approximately 35 graduate students and 265 undergraduate students. Our department proudly offers two ABET-accredited B.S. programs in Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Engineering, as well as two M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Management. We are dedicated to delivering a top-tier student experience that fuses research with education, offering unique learning opportunities that leverage the distinctive strengths of our department and region.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION:
• Doctoral Degree: A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering.
• Teaching Proficiency: The candidate should possess the ability to instruct a range of undergraduate courses (e.g., Intro to Programming, Engineering Mechanics Lab, Dynamics, System Dynamics, Controls, etc.) as well as advanced courses (e.g., Vibrations, Robotics, etc.).
• Cutting-edge Education: Capability to conceive and teach advanced courses that delve into contemporary topics, including AI and ML for Mechanical Engineers.
• Student Mentorship: Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to MSc students working on their theses in their respective areas of expertise, as well as mentor undergraduate students as they navigate their capstone projects.
• American Higher Education Experience
• Industry Expertise: Demonstrated industry experience within the field is highly advantageous.
