Full funded PhD student for Spring or Fall 2022
Graduate research assistantship is available in the research lab of immersive Computing for Touch, Computer Science at Kent State University, Kent, OH, starting for the spring or the fall semester of 2022. We are looking for a graduate research assistant who plans to pursue a PhD degree, is self-motivated and hard-working, and has excellent academic backgrounds in computer graphics and simulation. Experience, skills, and knowledge required for the position are listed below.

  • Interactive 3D interface design and simulation for training healthcare professionals or students
    o (Required) computer graphics, image processing knowledge
    o (Required) Strong computer programming skills (C++, C#)
    o (Required) 3D modeling with design tools (Blender, Maya, Autodesk,)
    o (Required) Computer graphic simulation programming with OpenGL or other graphic libs
    o Deformable 3D surface rendering
    o Good knowledge in game or simulation engines (graphics and physics)
    o Experience about user study design and experiment

The graduate research assistantship includes a monthly stipend and full tuition and the candidate must meet the following requirements for a PhD admission:
- Degree: BS or MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or related fields.
- English: iBT 75 or higher
- GPA: 3.5/4.0 or higher
- Publications: major conferences or journals
