Work description

The objective is to develop real-time control algorithms for microgrids, enabling secure islanding from the main grid. The algorithms developed will be tested under a real-time simulation model and Power Hardware In the Loop Infrastructure (PHIL) installed at INESC TEC Smart Grid and Electric Vehicles Laboratory.

Minimum profile required

Knowledge in power system dynamics;Knowledge in modelling and simulation under MAtlab/Simulink or Power Factory DigSilent.

Preference factors

  • Experience in modelling and simulation of microgrid systems;
  • Programming experience (python);
  • Experience in real-time digital simulators (OPAL-RT).

Maintenance stipend: € 1801,00, according to the table of monthly maintenance stipend for FCT grants , paid via bank transfer. Grant holders may be awarded potential supplements, according to a quarterly evaluation process (Articles 19, 21 and 22 of the Regulations for Grants of INESC TEC and Annex II), up to a maximum limit of 50% of the monthly maintenance stipend.
INESC TEC supports costs with registration, enrolment or tuition fees, during the grant duration, under the terms
established in the internal document: "Payment of Tuition fees to grant holders".
